Job and Schedule Data: We collect information about jobs you create, including job names, locations, dates, times, and crew assignments.

Communication Data: We store SMS messages sent through our platform, including message content, timestamps, delivery status, and recipient information.

Time and Location Data: When team members clock in or out, we may collect timestamp data and, with their consent, GPS location data to verify job site presence.

Payment Records: We store records of payments you make to team members, including amounts, dates, and payment methods. We do not process payments directly or store financial account details.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and feature usage.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our scheduling and communication services
  • To send SMS notifications to team members on your behalf regarding job schedules, clock-in reminders, and related communications
  • To process and track timesheets and payment records
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests

  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to use TEAM8 to:

  • Send unsolicited messages, spam, or marketing communications
  • Contact individuals who have not consented to receive messages from you
  • Transmit illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing content
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or data
  • Use the platform for any purpose other than workforce management

SMS Messaging Terms

By using our SMS features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have an existing business relationship with all individuals you message
  • You have obtained appropriate consent to contact these individuals
  • You will only send messages related to job scheduling, work assignments, and employment matters
  • You will honor all opt-out requests immediately
  • You are responsible for compliance with all applicable messaging laws and regulations

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TEAM8 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

SMS & Messaging Policy

TEAM8 provides SMS messaging capabilities to facilitate communication between employers and their team members. This policy outlines our commitment to responsible messaging practices and compliance with telecommunications regulations including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM Act, and carrier guidelines.

Consent Requirements

Existing Business Relationship: TEAM8 is designed exclusively for communication between employers/managers and their employees, contractors, or team members. By adding a team member to TEAM8, you confirm that:

  • You have an existing employment or contractor relationship with this individual
  • The individual has provided you with their phone number for work-related communications
  • You have a legitimate business purpose for contacting them
  • The communications are related to their employment or work assignments

Message Types

TEAM8 sends the following types of messages:

  • Job Notifications: Alerts about new job assignments, including job details, location, date, time, and pay rate
  • Confirmation Requests: Requests for team members to confirm or decline job assignments
  • Clock-In Reminders: Links and reminders for team members to clock in at job sites
  • Schedule Changes: Updates about changes to scheduled jobs
  • Payment Notifications: Confirmations when payments have been recorded

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on job scheduling activity. Team members typically receive messages only when:

  • They are assigned to a new job
  • A scheduled job is approaching (clock-in reminder)
  • There are changes to their scheduled jobs
  • A payment has been recorded for them

We do not send marketing messages, promotional content, or communications unrelated to work assignments.

Opt-Out Process

Team members can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any message
  • Replying UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT
  • Contacting their employer directly
  • Emailing support@team8.co

Opt-out requests are processed immediately and permanently. Once opted out, a team member will not receive any further SMS messages from TEAM8 unless they explicitly opt back in.

Message Content Standards

All messages sent through TEAM8 must:

  • Be truthful and not misleading
  • Relate directly to job assignments or employment matters
  • Not contain inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
  • Identify the sender (employer/business name)
  • Include opt-out instructions

Carrier Compliance

TEAM8 operates in compliance with carrier requirements and industry best practices:

  • We are registered for A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging
  • We maintain compliance with 10DLC (10-digit long code) regulations
  • We implement throughput limits to prevent carrier filtering
  • We monitor delivery rates and address any carrier concerns promptly

Data Protection

Phone numbers and message content are:

  • Stored securely with encryption at rest
  • Transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS)
  • Never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes
  • Only accessible to the account holder and authorized team members
  • Retained according to our Data Retention Policy

Costs

Standard message and data rates may apply based on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan. TEAM8 is not responsible for any charges incurred by message recipients.

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of TEAM8's services. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

Acceptable Uses

  • Managing work schedules for employees, contractors, or team members
  • Sending job-related notifications to individuals in your workforce
  • Tracking time and attendance for payroll purposes
  • Recording and organizing payment information
  • Communicating about work assignments, schedule changes, and job details

Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use TEAM8 to:

  • Send spam or unsolicited messages to individuals who have not agreed to receive communications from you
  • Conduct marketing campaigns or send promotional content
  • Harvest phone numbers or contact information
  • Send messages to purchased lists or contacts obtained from third parties
  • Transmit malicious content including malware, phishing attempts, or fraudulent schemes
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse any individual
  • Discriminate based on race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Violate any laws including employment laws, privacy regulations, or telecommunications rules
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Interfere with the platform's operation or other users' access
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the platform
  • Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
  • Use automated systems to send messages without human oversight

Content Standards

All content transmitted through TEAM8 must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Respect the rights and dignity of recipients
  • Be appropriate for a professional work environment

Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Monitor usage patterns for compliance with this policy
  • Investigate reported violations
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy
  • Report illegal activities to appropriate authorities
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations

Anti-Spam Policy

TEAM8 maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against spam and unsolicited communications. This policy ensures compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, and carrier anti-spam requirements.

Definition of Spam

For the purposes of this policy, "spam" includes:

  • Unsolicited bulk messages sent to multiple recipients
  • Messages sent to individuals without prior consent or business relationship
  • Marketing or promotional messages unrelated to employment
  • Messages that disguise or misrepresent their origin or purpose
  • Repeated messages after a recipient has opted out

  • No purchased lists: We prohibit the use of purchased, rented, or third-party contact lists
  • Relationship-based messaging: All messages must be sent to individuals with whom the sender has an existing business relationship

User Responsibilities

As a TEAM8 user, you agree to:

  • Send only job-related, employment-related messages
  • Respect all opt-out requests
  • Not use TEAM8 for marketing or promotional purposes
  • Maintain accurate records of your business relationships

Reporting Spam

If you receive unwanted messages sent through TEAM8, please report them to:

We investigate all spam reports and take appropriate action against violators.

Consequences of Violations

Users who violate this anti-spam policy may face:

  • Immediate suspension of messaging privileges
  • Account termination without refund

  • Legal action to recover damages
